Glorious Goodwood (last day)

A great week it’s been with some lovely booms along the way with hopefully one or two more today. I hope you’ve been doing ok too?

I was lucky enough to win a 12 player (£5 per entry) competition on the Bodugi website yesterday at Thirsk. Three out of six winners with the highlight being Hotham (15/2) which won me the first price of £31.68 🙂 Going into today I’m placed 3rd in the Racecaller festival competition and 14th (need to be top 10) in the Racing UK Festival competition. Despite winning £5 midweek I think I’m a little too far off the pace in the Telegraph/RUK/Bodugi £1000 competition, but you never know…a 33/1 might just do it 😀

Today I’m focusing purely on the Goodwood card. The Galway card is a little scrappy and the feature race has runners that have already raced once this week so it’s a nightmare for a guesser like me (did woefully there last night).

2.05 Good- Mymumsayimthebest, Thunderball & Valery Borzov (e/w).

2.35 Good- Activate & Sabotage (e/w).

3.10 Good- Midday (win).

3.45 Good- Nasri, Macs Power & Victoire De Lyphar (e/w).

4.20 Good- Eurystheus & Nawwaar (e/w).

4.55 Good- Apostle & Indepub (e/w).

5.35 Good- Diescentric & Kathleen Frances (e/w).

Hoping for a beast of a day! 😉

Goodwood & Galway (Friday)

Well it’s the penultimate days of the two major July horse racing festivals and what a week it’s been thus far. In my excitement yesterday I managed to catch and rip off my little toenail which is throbbing and stinging like mad today. I told you punting was fraught with danger at home 😀

Fly me to the moon

We’ll be over the moon if the dice roll right today! 😉

Goodwood & Galway (Thurs)

The winners were concentrated in the middle of the Goodwood card yesterday as Whiplash Willie (7/1), Rakasa (11/2) & Webbow (9/1) all came in one after another. These three won me the odd cash prize or two in some tipsters competitions I’m playing and they resulted in me being handily placed in the overall Goodwood competitions. Fingers crossed on that front 😀

Once again I’m going for the Galway & Goodwood mix up today:

1.50 Gal- Traffic Article & The Real Tyson (e/w).

2.15 Good- Fulgur & Barney Rebel (e/w).

2.25 Gal- Slieveardagh & Out Now (e/w).

2.45 Good- Kingsgate Native (e/w).

3.15 Good- Red Cadeaux & Blue Bajan (e/w).

3.35 Gal- Crystal Morning (e/w).

3.45 Good- Field Of Miracles (e/w).

4.10 Gal- Datokepe (e/w).

4.20 Good- Gifted Girl & Cat Queen (e/w).

4.50 Gal- Gimlis Rock & Hidden Universe (e/w).

4.55 Good- Sinfonico & Bridgefield (e/w).

5.25 Good- Reflect & Aldwick Bay (e/w).

5.30 Gal- Prince Of Fashion (e/w).

6.05 Gal- Law Rebel (e/w).

Picking winners at Galway

Festival of dreams! 😉

Goodwood & Galway (Weds)

Once again another fairly good day at both meetings yesterday. A string of places in the afternoon at Goodwood gave way to three winners at Galway in the evening. Iron Major returning @ 7/1 was an unexpected surprise as I thought it would be much shorter.

Today’s meetings both take place this afternoon so I’ll run through my fancies in chronological order for ease:

2.00 Good- Bowdlers Magic & Font (e/w).

2.35 Good- Red Duke (win).

3.00 Gal- Dingaling (e/w).

3.10 Good- Canford Cliffs (win).

3.35 Gal- Sparkling Tara & Seader (e/w).

3.45 Good- Whiplash Willie & Four Nations (e/w).

4.10 Gal- Corrick Bridge & Dream Champion (e/w).

4.20 Good- Rakasa (e/w).

4.45 Good- El Gran Torino (e/w).

4.55 Good- Shavansky & Webbow (e/w).

5.25 Gal- Finger Onthe Pulse & Dr Whizz (e/w).

5.30 Good- Abdicate & Apache Glory (e/w).

6.00 Gal- Yellow Rock (e/w).

6.35 Gal- A Word Apart (e/w).

7.10 Gal- Font Of Wisdom (win).

Enjoy dinging today! 😉

Galway Festival & Glorious Goodwood

What an absolute cracking start to the Galway Festival meeting here on the blog yesterday when I managed to pick four winners from seven races. Virgil Earp (9/1), Riviera Poet (2/1), Foster’s Cross (10/1) & Good Shot Noreen (7/1). I went out to play a sports match shortly after Virgil Earp won and then when I got home later in the evening and turned on the TV text I was very pleased 🙂

Today I’m going to attempt a double header of Glorious Goodwood this afternoon and the Galway Festival this evening:

Goodwood

2.00 Good- Our Joe Mac & Kings Gambit (e/w).

2.35 Good- Slumber (e/w).

3.10 Good- Red Jazz (e/w).

3.45 Good- Burwaaz & Charles The Great (e/w).

4.20 Good- Moustache (e/w).

4.50 Good- Kajima & Don’t Call Me (e/w).

5.25 Good- Maze & Boogie Waltzer (e/w).

Galway

5.05 Gal- Greenbelt Star (e/w).

5.35 Gal- Muirhead & Sarteano (e/w).

6.10 Gal- Dreamy Gent & Wee Giant (e/w).

6.45 Gal- Waydownsouth & Royal Blue Star (e/w).

7.15 Gal- Shamooda (e/w).

7.45 Gal- Iron Major (e/w).

8.15 Gal- Catch The Eye (win).

Mine's a Fosters please

Hoping for more festival fun today! 😉

Galway Festival (Day 1) (& Uttoxeter)

How’s your liver? Can it stand seven days of jumps racing in Ireland? If you’re attending the Festival all week then fair play to you. You’ve either got the constitution of an ox or very deep pockets 😀

Today’s fancies are from Galway & Uttoxeter:

5.05 Gal- Virgil Earp (e/w).

5.35 Gal- Uncle Taffy & Banna Man (e/w).

6.10 Gal- Riviera Poet (win).

6.30 Uttox- Titch Strider (e/w).

6.45 Gal- Foster’s Cross & Rattan (e/w).

7.00 Uttox- Definite Dawn (win).

7.15 Gal- Good Shot Noreen (e/w).

7.30 Uttox- Grand Art (win).

7.45 Gal- Natucket Bay (e/w).

8.00 Uttox- Knight Woodsman (e/w).

8.15 Gal- Maller Tree (e/w).

8.30 Uttox- Folie A Deux & Jocheski (e/w).

9.00 Uttox- Zepnove & Nawow (e/w).

Katie on the board today?

Be lucky today! 😉

Huddersfield Huddlers

Well done to Peru last night. They were emphatic 4-1 winners over Venezuela and the blog tip was landed.

I’m in rather a rush today so there’s no horsey fancies. However I am going to select Huddersfield @ 1.57 to beat Castleford in the Challenge Cup (live on BBC @ 3.30pm GMT).

Try!

Good luck today! 😉

Peru Perusal

A superb double at the end of yesterday’s Southwell meeting put the icing on the cake. McCoy cleverly led on Sharadiyn (9/4) from start to finish and Campbell Gillies brought home Crosby Gemma (14/1) by 8l in the last race.

No racing tips from me today as there is no jump racing, plus the feature flat races are high quality but small fields and virtually impossible to get an angle on. I mean there’s so much hype about the King George today, however you cannot say with any conviction which of the four main protagonists will win and there’s only five runners. Lucky pin anyone?

Today I’m advising a punt on Peru @ 3.2 in the Copa America playoff game tonight (starts 8pm GMT). The Peruvians have had a superb tournament and I believe would be justified and well capable of claiming third spot.

Where's Paddington?

 Good luck today! 😉

Southwell Southfork

It was nice to break the Uttoxeter hoodoo yesterday with Sansili & A Stones Throw winning at great prices-especially the Bowen charge making the afternoon a profitable one.

Today’s fancies are at Southwell:

2.20 South- Gingers Lad & Wee Ziggy (e/w).

2.55 South- Outlaw Tom (e/w).

3.30 South- Barizan (win).

4.05 South- Danny Zuko (e/w).

4.40 South- Sharadiyn (win).

5.15 South- Border Tale & Crosby Gemma (e/w).

Spot the Rhino?

Go like grease lightening today Danny! 😉
