Gold Trip opened up 20-1 with Betfair Sportsbook for G1 Grand Prix de Saint Cloud. Way out of line but shame only available for a couple of beans. Will still have those few beans each way though as more a 5-1 shot. Chased home In Swoop closely twice and decent Ganay 2nd latest.
It was my intention to concentrate on Carlisle today, but with the atrocious conditions around the country, my Racing Post Nap (10/1 winner Blue Hawaii yesterday btw) already a non-runner, and a general feeling that the fields here in the UK will cut up even further, I have decided to go for the relative calm of Saint-Cloud’s turf card. Let’s take Laurent Barbarin on today in some friendly Anglo-French napping rivalry.
Really good racing double header for Parisians today too, Morning flat at Saint Cloud then half an hour after the last race an afternoon/evening jumps card at Auteuil!

@RacingPost Back to Saint-Cloud after the winter break for an opening day featuring two Listed races. Official going is very heavy, while there is a very strong wind blowing right to left across the home straight. pic.twitter.com/4vnamKkB3Y
