Chelte(n)ham Festival 2015 (Wednesday)

ladieschelt

Muffs and pink lipsticks at the ready, it’s going to be a barnstorming Ladies Day at the Cheltenham Festival today with lots more excellent action to come, both on and off the track.

It was a very poor start for me personally on the punting front as taking on the first day favourites didn’t yield many dividends. Hopefully today will be a bit more of a level playing field and Willie Mullins might just give us outsider backers a bit of a chance to land a fish.

Did anyone else notice how well the misspelling of the #cheltehamfestival hashtag was doing yesterday? I don’t think that spelling faux pas will be going away any time soon either when you check today’s Twitter feeds.

Today’s Cheltenham fancies:

1.30  Chelt- Beast Of Burden (e/w).

2.05 Chelt- Kings Palace (e/w).

2.40 Chelt- Blackmail & Hisaabaat (e/w).

3.20 Chelt- Special Tiara & Mr Mole (e/w).

4.00 Chelt- Chicago Grey & Are Ya Right Chief (e/w).

4.40 Chelt- Hostile Fire (e/w).

5.15 Chelt- Vigil & Livelovelaugh (e/w).

Cheltenham Festival 2014 (Wednesday)

quevegaTuesday saw history in the making as the wonder mare Quevega won for the sixth consecutive year. We also had a new Champion Hurdler crowned with Jezski winning for trainer Jessica Harrington but the race was tinged with sadness as the 2013 Triumph Hurdle winner Our Conor lost his life. So many highs, so many lows.

As you’ve probably realised by now today’s blogpost isn’t password protected. Yesterday was my own little experiment to see just what kind of interaction there still is between this blog and you the wider reading public. After recent events and letdowns I was trying to ascertain whether this blog still had any worth or  whether I’d faded off into the woodwork. I’m glad to report that the experiment did indeed boost my low moral at the moment and I had some good conversations with one or two of you yesterday.

Unfortunately my selections on here yesterday didn’t back up that faith in me but to be honest I didn’t see much evidence of many winners anywhere in the written form. I think generally everyone had a first day struggle.

elizaToday is Ladies Day at Cheltenham so here’s to a little bit of that lady luck rubbing off on these selections.

Cheltenham fancies for Wednesday:

1.30 Chelt- Red Sherlock & Cup Final (e/w).

2.05 Chelt- Morning Assembly & Sam Winner (e/w).

2.40 Chelt- Far West & Ifandbutwhynot (e/w).

3.20 Chelt- Captain Conan & Special Tiara (e/w).

4.00 Chelt- Love Rory & Quantitativeeasing (e/w).

4.40 Chelt- Ivan Grozny, Clarcam & Hawk High (e/w).

Cheltenham Festival 2013 (Day 2)

All tied up with nowhere to go?

All tied up with nowhere to go?

So Tuesday finally went off with a bang at Cheltenham with superlatives galore coming for Simonsig, Hurricane Fly & Quevega but I was kind of left wondering how Channel 4 Racing would managed if a whole raft of outsiders had of won on day one? It remains to be seen whether they will get flummoxed by some “non-expected” results.

1st Simonsig (B J Geraghty, 8/15 fav) & 2nd Baily Green (D J Casey, 33/1) was the highlight on the betting front yesterday with the dividend paying £23.10. Rock On Ruby (N Fehily, 11/2) was my eachway banker of the meeting you may recall and I was also pleased with the placing of Tullamore Dew (Mr T J Cannon, 33/1).

Today’s Cheltenham fancies:

1.30 Chelt- Godsmejudge & Tofino Bay (e/w).

2.05 Chelt- Rule The World (e/w).

2.40 Chelt- Lord Windermere & Goulanes (e/w).

3.20 Chelt- Comb F/C 2-3-5-7 (12 bets, small stakes).

4.00 Chelt- Bondage, Barbatos & Cash And Go (e/w).

4.40 Chelt- Zamdy Man & Ptit Zig (e/w).

5.15 Chelt- Blackmail & Golantilla (e/w).

There’s a room where the light won’t find you
Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down
When they do, I’ll be right behind you
So glad we’ve almost made it
So sad they had to fade it
Everybody wants to rule the world.
