Leicester (Weds)

A superb day for the blog yesterday which I’m afraid went pretty much unnoticed on a wet Tuesday in January. Winners at 11/1, 11/10, 11/2 & 4/1 and the inclusion of American Steve’s video which also included the 11/1 winner plus the combination forecast and tricast (Ex:£53.80 CSF:£43.68 Tricast:£163.23 Trifecta:£356.00) made for some generous returns.

Newt Routes

newtonabbDespite my reservations about picking a whole set of selections at Leicester the ones I did pick served me well. Marsh Dragon (P Hanagan, 7/2), New Fforest (Oisin Murphy, 5/1) & Knight Owl (S W Kelly, 8/1) all won with places from Inspiriter (S De Sousa, 12/1) & Thereabouts (A Mullen, 6/1).

Leicester Leanings

segeantpinkThe image results that are returned when you search something on Google on occasion really crack me up. Like the image above which was the result of me searching the term “Sergeant Pink Horse”. I can see what they’ve done there.

I was literally tickled pin with the blog results at Uttoxeter yesterday afternoon. Drop Out Joe (N Fehily, 8/1), Sergeant Pink (Mr J Brooke, 10/1) & Watch House (Miss A Stirling, 5/1) all won with places from The Wicked Kipper (Mr O Garner, 11/2), Echo Dancer (Josh Wall, 16/1), Bathwick Man (Mr K Edgar, 7/1) & Hopstrings (S Twiston-Davies, 4/1). In fact a permutation of all the selections yesterday would also have netted you the placepot and the quadpot which returned dividends of: Placepot: £226.40 Quadpot: £23.90

Just a warning about today. I have a fairly poor record at Leicester for some reason so the fancies I’ve gone with today you may wish to avoid. However the reason I have taken on Leicester today is that it offers the most open and competitive races of the day. All you need is that 10/1+ winner and the day is a good one.

Today’s Leicester fancies:

2.00 Leic- Emperors Hope & Inspiriter (e/w).

2.30 Leic –Summerfree (e/w).

3.00 Leic- Storm Trooper (e/w).

3.30 Leic- Marsh Dragon (e/w).

4.00 Leic- New Fforest & Commanche (e/w).

4.30 Leic- Thereabouts (e/w).

5.00 Leic- Knight Owl & Eurystheus (e/w).

5.30 Leic- Red Paladin & True Spirit (e/w).

Those travelling around Cheltenham can anticipate high levels of traffic today as the town prepares for its most famous festival.Thousands will descend on Gloucestershire this weekend before the start of racing at Prestbury Park on Tuesday.

This year’s four-day event will see crowds of around 60,000 people each day head to Cheltenham Racecourse.

Eager visitors have already started arriving in the spa town and so traffic is moving, but slow in some places.

Doub “L” Header

Yee-ha! as Matt Chapman of ATR would say. We finally have some jumps action in the UK today after the bad weather hiatus which seems to go on forever.

Wolverhampton yesterday was once again a happy hunting ground with winners in the shape of Stand Guard (A Kirby, 1-8 fav) (don’t laugh 😀 ), Stormbound (Raul Da Silva, 2-1), Fighter Boy (G Gibbons, 11-2) & Prince Of Passion (J Fanning, 4-1). Fighter Boy was also my tip on the new Tipster Table website I’m currently chancing my arm on.

Mussillon Méribel

It’s far from being skiing weather in Edinburgh today. In fact it’s almost spring like as we shake off those winter blues of last week.

Yesterday I had a poor show at Kelso and today I’ve decided to concentrate once again upon Musselburgh after some success there last week. I was tempted to go for the Leicester card that compromises purely of Chases today, however for some reason I have poor winning statistics at that track. So, Musselburgh it is:

1.40 Muss- Blazin White Face (e/w).

2.10 Muss- Via Archimede & Delightfully (e/w).

2.40 Muss- Call It On (e/w).

3.15 Muss- Civil Unrest & Long Distance (e/w).

3.45 Muss- Beidh Tine Anseo (e/w).

4.15 Muss- Spellchecker (e/w).

4.45 Muss- My Mum Mo & Nemi (e/w).

My old mum

Hoping for a few aces to go in today! 😉
