Yanworth left a few people with egg on their faces yesterday, including me, but there still appears to be a general consensus around that his jumping and mental fortitude will come under pressure in the JLT/RSA at The Festival.
He certainly won’t be going in my Cheltenham portfolio, not that I have one these days. I gave up on ante-post wagering at The Festival many years ago after a certain Mr Mullins and his pink silked owners started playing silly beggars with their entries.
In fact, I’d rather have an ante-post bet on the Eurovision Song Contest at this stage. What price Sweden anybody?

A good morning to you all and a very Happy New Year 2018 to you also.
As you may recall, I did say that I would bring back a small narrative section to the blog each day. After all there is usually plenty to discuss in the racing world on a daily basis and 2018 will be no different in this regard.
Today, New Year’s resolutions will be made around the world. Whether they are adhered to and stand the test of 12 months remains another matter but at least the intent was there in the first place.
So have you made any New Year racing resolutions? One that springs to mind for me personally is to stop reversing pending withdrawals in betting accounts. Press the button, walk away Steven – be strong, the force is with you! Don’t let the Dark Side take it back.
