Despite a scare racing does take place at Cheltenham today albeit thirty-five minutes later than scheduled with the Cross-Country Race being put to the end of the card.

Newcastle Newbies

After the sad demise of poor Darlan on Monday at Doncaster I’ve found it hard to revisit the Champion Hurdle betting however the show will go on regardless and around now is the time to get hold of some value if you’ve spotted any? The current champion –Rock On Ruby is 6/1 and I’m hoping this is a solid eachway bet at this fairly late stage given the events that unfolded earlier in the week. On the day I can see it vying for second favouritism behind Hurricane Fly at around 4/1 – 9/2 so we could be pinching two points at present.

Tricky Trickster (Mr S Clements, 4/5 fav) was the only winner at Huntingdon yesterday with places from Lady From Geneva (Mr B J Powell, 16/1), Ballypatrick (A Coleman, 7/1) & Quaddick Lake (Nick Scholfield, 13/2).
