Well what can I say about yesterday other than the pin fell lucky and don’t be expecting the same thing every day? In all seriousness, it was some bitter sweet compensation for not being able to attend my favourite racecourse/raceday for the first time in 27 years due to the Tier 3 restrictions – something that cut me really deep both emotionally and mentally. It appears however that the ghosts of Aintree past came to my rescue. It’s a funny old world!
