It’s not very often I get up in the middle of the night to watch a horse race but the Melbourne Cup is generally an exception to that rule. It was a get up well justified as Ryan Moore brought home the emphatic German winner Protectionist in fine style and put a few pennies back into the betting bank.
Tinging the event was the death of two horses Admire Rakti & Araldo in two completely independent incidents and our thoughts go out to their connections.
