With no summer jumps action this week and the flat racing bereft of any actual runners it’s turned into somewhat of a six day hiatus here on the blog. Quite frankly the racing hasn’t been worth blogging about and has been incredibly weak since the Glorious Goodwood fixture.
Shocking news this week that Fergal Lynch has been given the green light to ride again by the BHA. Changed man or not his previous misdemeanors will always bring about a lack of trust with your average punter. To be honest I don’t attend many flat meetings but I certainly wouldn’t attend ANY that involve any formerly disqualified jockeys. Once bitten twice shy for me and Joe Public.
It may have escaped your notice last Sunday that the enigmatic veteran Foster’s Cross won again at his favourite course of Galway. Fortunately for me (and perhaps you) I tipped him up here along with the runner up Pires. I also managed to get a small slice of the exacta. On the back Of Prince Rudi at 20/1 it turned into a fantastic Galway Summer Festival punting wise.
1st Fosters Cross (D N Russell, 12/1) 2nd Pires (Shane Shortall, 8/1) Exacta: €162.5
