I was on cloud nine after the racing at Thurles yesterday when Shootin The Breeze (Andrew J McNamara, 20-1 ) & Mini Vic (D J Bates, 11-2 ) went in for the blog.
The story of the afternoon was the win for Miss E.A Lawlor on Carrigeen Lechuga (10/1). The horse was well fancied by a friend on Twitter last time out when they advised me to follow it and it ran a creditable third. If it hadn’t of been for a chance read of my timeline I would have completely missed it as I noticed a prompt had gone out to some other people on Twitter. Alarm bells rang in my head, I better get on that again I thought. On Betfair the horse had drifted from 6/1 to 16/1, it was almost the off time so I took the 16′s. The race set off and the selection was nearly brought down and was in rear early. Our friend Hoz from Cambridge at that time managed to get £5 on @50/1 at this early stage of proceedings. To cut a long story short the horse worked its way into the race and won nicely in the end. The moral of the story- always keep your eyes peeled and your reminders in NagMe
Some would say it’s probably madness to have any financial interest in the N.H bumper racing at Kempton today, however it is quite a unique state of affairs and I’m sure there are some little gems of value to be found. Here are some of my fancies at Kempton:
2.05 Kemp- Fire Chief & Offbeat Safaris (e/w).
2.40 Kemp- Gores Island (e/w).
3.15 Kemp- Kasbadali (e/w).
3.50 Kemp- Glorious Twelfth & Prize Poppy (e/w).
4.25 Kemp- Tuscan Gold & Zennor (e/w).
4.55 Kemp- Megastar (e/w).
5.25 Kemp- Milgen Bay (e/w).
Hope you pull a few winners today!
